The following week Anthology 3 sold 237,000 copies (while VH sold another 130,000). What I'm trying to say is that give or take a few thousand, BOV1 would still have sold the same amount of copies in it's first week and most likely gone to number 1 or 2, even if Anthology 3 came out the same day. There may have been a few thousand that would have bought Anthology 3 instead of BOV1 if they were released the same day, but saying that WB carefully planned the release for a "weak week" to "inflate Eddie's ego" really grasping at straws. - -- Grant Fisher gfisher@netspace.net.au ------------------------------ From: "Rex Jackson" Date: Fri, 8 Nov 1996 17:52:57 -0500 Subject: Re: Bauvil is cornered http://home.earthlink.net/~rexjackson - ---------- > From: RICKIWAVE@aol.com > To: vanhalen@lists.fdt.net > Subject: Re: Bauvil is cornered > Date: Friday, November 08, 1996 5:43 PM > > In a message dated 96-11-08 13:24:44 EST, you write: > > << Doesn't matter, Bauv, you're just a "mouthpiece" for > the Van Halen camp. I spent some extra bucks to send it Global Priority Mail (3-5 days) since I had a slight delay in getting it dubbed. I know you know this already but with all the talk of bad traders lately on the list I thought I better post this. On the subject of bad traders and keeping a list, I was thinking it might be better for everyone involved on this list if we kept a record of GOOD traders. If someone had the inclination to start a database or Web Page, when two people completed a successful, happy trade they could submit the info and then other people could see that yes indeed, so and so completes his/her trades. That would eliminate the possible wrongful branding that could accompany a postal loss or normal delays. I know that I wouldn't mind being able to check someone out in that way and I sure wouldn't mind being included. One could say to a wary trader, I'm on the list check me out. Just an idea, I haven't really thought it through...
