I was just kinda in that driving "zone" when I heard Dee mention DLR, so naturaly I turn it up. Dee is known for his cheesy intros to the songs and this was no exception. He starts to say that "David Lee Roth was the best front man Van Halen ever had!" He follows with "well Sammy Hagar was a better singer and wasn't as much of an A-hole." Then he says something to the fact that VH should have called to ask his opinion on the matter. LOL Just before he plays "Yankee Rose" he says "before David Lee Rothstein bombed he had some really kickin tunes" and tells the listeners to "Turn it up!" Also noteable, Dee reports that Quiet Riot has been asked by a member of the Seattle Supersonics to remake "Come On Feel The Noise." Apparently he also asked them to team up with Sir Mix-alot(sp) to make it a little more 90's. If you want to contact or request a VH tune, the shows email address is dee@primrad.com. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 11 Jul 1998 23:41:13 -0700 From: Sherman Subject: Re: Sacramento Pix Up!! (again) Just wanted to share a bit of my life.... For the past few months, I have suffered from lower back pains. No big deal I thought, but it never went away. Finally I went to the doctor to have it checked out. To make a long story short, I found out I was suffering from both glucose intolerance AND psyactica (sic). I am a big guy (6'3" - 270ish), but I never thought in a million years I would be a candidate for diabetes (sic) which is the next step up from glucose intolerance. Yes, I do my share of eating (keep me away from buffets), but believe it or not I do quite well normally (I happen to love vegetables). The doctor (which is female and quite beautiful; I was hoping she would ask me to drop my shorts and cough) told me drinking beer (in moderation) and my cholesterol was not a biggie, but I do need to have a low fat diet. This is where I am leading to.... I have been a fan of Van Halen for almost 20 years, and I have always respected Eddie Van Halen. Now, I have a choice to make. Either I diet and watch my sugar and fat intake, or I am a prime candidate for diabetes (no offense, but I'm not a fan of taking insulin shots everyday). Eddie faced his demons and as far as I know is doing quite well, so he is going to be my inspiration (again). If he can quit alcohol, I can quit shit food. I refuse to succumb to needles. I know I can do it. When I was able to play drums, Eddie was my inspiration (I know what you thinking, but I loved his attitude towards music). Now, my health is on the line, and I am looking again to Ed for inspiration. I have NO idea why I wanted to share this with everyone, but I did. :) __________________________________ "All right you sinners, SWING!!!!"
